A Letter from Randy Founder of JackBabbittSlims If you've found your way here, whether you're looking for a slice of cheesecake, a bottle of sauce, handcrafted bath and body products, or you're simply curious about my story, welcome. I'm glad you're here. My name is Randy C. Babbitt, and JackBabbittSlims is more than a business to me. It's proof that people can change, rebuild, and create something meaningful from even the hardest chapters of life. I've worked in the food industry since I was sixteen years old. Over the years I've cooked in fast food restaurants, managed kitchens, prepared banquet meals, and learned something everywhere I went. While I never attended culinary school, I developed my own style through years of experience, experimentation, and a genuine love of creating food that brings people together. My journey hasn't been easy. As a teenager, addiction slowly took control of my life. It led me down a path that eventually brought me into the criminal justice system and, ultimately, to prison. Looking back, those years were filled with poor decisions, broken relationships, and opportunities I couldn't yet see. Everything changed on July 25, 2022, the day I committed myself to recovery. Recovery hasn't been a straight line. I've stumbled, faced consequences for my choices, and learned that rebuilding a life takes patience, accountability, and humility. When I was released from prison in 2025, I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't simply stay sober. I would build a life worth protecting. That's how JackBabbittSlims began. What started in my living room has grown into a business built on creativity, quality, and heart. Every cheesecake, every handcrafted sauce, every bath soak, every body butter, and every new recipe represents another step forward. Today, I'm also proud to serve as a recovery mentor, helping others who are beginning their own journey toward a better life. I prepare meals for recovery groups, encourage people who feel like giving up, and try every day to be the kind of person I once needed myself. I believe food has a way of bringing people together. It creates conversations, celebrates milestones, comforts us during difficult times, and reminds us that simple things made with care can have a lasting impact. That's what I hope you'll find here.
